Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid are fantastic pair, says Sachin Tendulkar

Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid are fantastic pair, says Sachin Tendulkar: Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has termed the duo of white-ball skipper Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid as ‘fantastic pair.’ The legendary batsman, while in conversation with Boria Majumdar said that Rohit and Rahul will both ‘give their best shots’ to win the upcoming world cups.

Tendulkar mentioned that the coming month of April would complete India’s 11 years of the ICC ODI World Cup 2011 win. Since the historic triumph under MS Dhoni, team India has failed to lift the coveted ICC World Cups.

“…In the month of April, we’ll complete 11 years [without a World Cup trophy] so that’s a long wait. Everyone, including me, would love to see that trophy in BCCI’s office in that beautiful cabinet,” said Sachin Tendulkar on Boria Majumdar’s channel Revsportz.

He further added that every cricketer plays for the World Cup only. There is no bigger occasion than the ICC World Cup, no matter it is the T20I World Cup or the Test World Cup.

“This is one trophy which all the cricketers play for – the World Cup. It doesn’t get any bigger than that, be it in a shorter format or the longer format, World Cup is something special.”

The GOD of the cricket backed Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid to take India to its next milestone soon and bring the World Cup glory home.

“Rohit and Rahul both, [it’s] a fantastic pair. I know those guys would give their best shot and prepare to the best of their ability and, again, when you’ve so many people backing you, what else would one want. It’s all about having that support at the right time.”

He asserted that the journey isn’t going to be a cakewalk for team India. There will be ups and downs, but not losing hope is the only way forward for the team at the international level.

“And then, of course, everyone has played enough cricket, Rahul has played enough cricket to understand there are going to be ups and downs along the way. Not to lose hope is the only thing. Keep trying and we keep moving forward.”

A major transition has taken place in the Indian dressing room since Ravi Shastri’s exit. Virat Kohli lost his captaincy position in ODIs after voluntarily stepping down from the T20Is and Rohit Sharma was subsequently appointed leader of the side.

Brilliant coach Rahul Dravid, who gave his all to groom India’s new generation cricketers, took over the role of head coach following Shastri’s exit from the team.

With the T20 World Cup 2022 lined ahead, India is trying its options to bring up the best side possible for the World Cup. The preparations of the same have already begun.
