Vivo IPL 2021: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Sunday unveiled their brand new “Blue Jersey” which the team will don in one of their upcoming games. The blue jersey will be sported to pay tribute, solidarity and respect to all the front-line workers who have been putting in their efforts to fight this global pandemic.
It is also learnt that the franchise will also make some financial contributions for the purchase of Oxygen concentrators and other crucial medicines in Bangalore and other cities.
“RCB has identified key areas where much-needed help is required immediately in healthcare infrastructure related to Oxygen support in Bangalore and other cities, and will be making a financial contribution towards this,” said Kohli in a video posted on RCB’s Twitter.
“This season RCB is going to be sporting a special Blue jersey in 1 of the upcoming matches with key messaging on the match kit to pay our respect and show solidarity to all the front line heroes who have spent last year wearing PPE kits and leading the fight against the pandemic,” he added.
In addition to this, the franchise has also decided to auction the signed jersey of the players to raise the funds and donate them to fight the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country. RCB has also urged all the people of the country to take the vaccine at the earliest when their turn comes.
“RCB will also auction all the signed player jerseys from this game to raise money and add to our earlier financial contribution supporting healthcare infrastructure related to oxygen support. We also urge you stay home and get vaccinated at the earliest opportunity,” said Kohli in the video issued by RCB.
Apart from this, Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma together have pledged to make their individual contributions to fight his dreaded virus.
