RCB glovesman Dinesh Karthik is all set for his India comeback after stellar IPL 2022: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB’s) experienced glovesman Dinesh Karthik is now all set to ink his India comeback once again following his stellar performance in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season fifteen. Karthik, playing the finishing role, has maintained the highest strike rate amongst the top run-getters of the T20 tournament and managed to take his side over the line more often than not.

Dinesh Karthik has, so far, scored 197 runs in the six matches of the Tata IPL 2022 at a brisk strike rate of 209.57. To add more to that, Karthik has only been dismissed once in the ongoing tournament in six matches for RCB.

The veteran stumper batter, last night, helped RCB to fetch a 16 runs win over Delhi Capitals by Smashing an unbeaten 66 off 34 balls.

Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli was in awe of Karthik’s scintillating death over batting and heaped praises on him following RCB’s 16 runs win over Delhi Capitals last night.

“I am here with the man of the IPL for me so far…It’s been wonderful. I won’t even say ‘long may it continue’ because it will and you’re in that space and I can see that. It was an honour to watch you bat again. Thanks for getting us across the line,” said Kohli during his conversation with Dinesh Karthik on iplt20.com.

Kohli further mentioned that Dinesh has presented a very strong case for himself, especially when the T20 World Cup 2022 is lined ahead.

“I am very happy that DK is so clear in his goals. I can surely tell you that you have presented a very strong case for yourself moving forward playing T20 cricket not just for RCB but also I am sure lot of people are taking notice at the highest level as well.”

“You mentioned. I think AB will be very proud watching from Pretoria, sitting at home and watching you finish games for us and take the team across the line,” he added.

Dinesh Karthik made his Indian debut back in 2004, however, he has always been on and off from the Indian side due to various reasons. He last played for India in the 2019 ODI World Cup in England. In his 18-years career so far, Karthik has played 36 test matches and 94 ODIs along with 32 T20 Internationals for team India.

It will be interesting to see how Indian selectors process Dinesh Karthik’s IPL 2022 performance. With Dinesh Karthik and Hardik Pandya both announcing their return as a finisher, it’s going to be hard for Venkatesh Iyer, who was highly reckoned as Hardik’s replacement, to find a place on the Indian T20I side.
