Vivo IPL 2021: Inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals (RR) managed to register their second win of the tournament last night defeating two times champion Kolkata knight Riders (KKR) by six wickets in a low scoring game at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
A valiant performance by all rounder Chirs Morris followed by a sensible knock from Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson lifted Rajasthan Royals (RR) off eighth spot in the points table of the ongoing Indian T20 League.
Chasing a below-par total in Wankhede Stadium, Rajasthan Royals lost early wickets of Jos Buttler (5 off 7) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (22 off 17) inside the powerplay.
Skipper Sanju Samson kept the run board ticking and took his side over the line for the second win with seven deliveries to spare.
Samson scored unbeaten 42 from 41 while Shivam Dube (22 off 18) and David Miller (24* off 23) played their small cameos in the chase.
Forced to bat first, Kolkata Knight RIders (KKR) batting misery never really allowed them to take off the innings.
Rahul Tripathi (36 off 26) tried to turn the tables however the pressure of low scoring rate took his wicket too.
In the full quota of 20 overs, KKR managed to score 133 runs in the loss of 9 wickets.
All rounder Chris Morris scalped the most, four wickets and was awarded man of the match for his sublime show.
Pacers Chetan Sakariya, Mustafizur Rahman and Jayadev Unadkat also picked one-one wickets each.
