The second fixture of the PSL began with Babar Azam winning the toss and deciding to field first. Quetta Gladiators after being put to bat first put up a solid run-fest and mercilessly tormented the opposition. The two openers - Jason Roy and Saud Shakeel provided a solid start as they stitched a long partnership of 157 runs in just 15.2 overs. None of the incoming batters managed to score swiftly and eventually, Peshawar Zalmi was restricted to a score of 190 runs in 20 overs.
The sublime effort aided Quetta Gladiators in registering their first win of the season in the very first match itself. Quetta Gladiators defeated Peshawar Zalmi by 16 runs and opened their account in the Pakistan Super League 2024 Points Table.
