Pakistan National Cricket Team to boycott match against UAE? Fresh statement arrives ahead of Asia Cup 2025 encounter

The Pakistan National Cricket Team are all set to lock horns with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in their last league game of the Asia Cup 2025. The match is scheduled to take place on Wednesday (17th September) at the Dubai International Stadium in Dubai. 

The Pakistan National Cricket Team has been in the news ever since their game against India concluded. The match between the two rivals was marred by a controversy as Indian players denied shaking hands with the Pakistan players and walked straight into the dressing room after winning the game. 

This didn’t go well with the Pakistan National The Cricket Team as they lodged an official complaint against the Indian players. Also, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi openly wrote to the International Cricket Council (ICC), seeking the removal of match referee Andy Pycroft from the Asia Cup 2025.

The Pakistan National Cricket Team threatened to boycott the game against the UAE in the Asia Cup 2025. They didn’t even attend the pre-match press conference and this added more fuel to the fire, with controversy getting even more hyped. 

However, the reports claimed that the ICC rejected the PCB’s request and since then, there has been a lot of speculation about whether the game between the teams will be played as per schedule or not. 

Pakistan National Cricket Team vs UAE match to go as per schedule in the Asia Cup 2025 

Despite the ICC’s rejection, the Pakistan National Cricket Team are all set to play the game against the UAE, meaning that their boycott won’t be happening. The reports in the Pakistan media claimed that although, Andy Pycroft wont be removed from the tournament, he won’t be officiating in the Pakistan games.

The game vs UAE will be extremely important for the Pakistan National Cricket Team. If they win the game, they will qualify for the Super Four stage alongside India from the game. A loss against UAE in the match would mean curtains for them in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025.
