Pakistan has better young talent than India, says Abdul Razzaq.
Former Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq on a cricket show on ARY News asserted that India doesn't possess the same level of the talent pool as Pakistan and that is why India doesn't get involved with Pakistan in the bilateral matches.?
In response to the question, whether India have similar pacers and all-rounder like Pakistan or there is no match, Abdul Razzaq said that the Men in Green are far more superior than the Indians and can?t compete with Pakistan. However, he further said that India and Pakistan not playing matches together is not a good thing for cricket.
?I don?t think India can compete with Pakistan. The kind of talent Pakistan has is entirely different, and I don?t think is a good thing for cricket that India and Pakistan are not having matches. It used to be an exciting prospect and gave players the opportunity to show how much pressure they could handle. So that has gone missing. I feel that had it continued, people would have found out that the kind of talent Pakistan has, India does not,? said Razzaq on a cricket show on ARY News.
India stopped playing against Pakistan in the bilateral series owing to the off-field political tensions. The two sides haven?t met each other in Test cricket since the 2008 Mumbai terror attack.
The two cricket playing nations are seen competing against each other only in Asia Cup and the major ICC events.
The former cricketer reckoned that India too has some of the best cricketers, however, their comparison with the Pakistani legends is not justifiable. Pakistan?s legends are too good to be compared with the Indians.
?India too has a good team, I?m not saying anything otherwise. Even they have good players. But if you look at it potential-wise, we had Imran Khan, they had Kapil Dev. If you are to compare, then Imran Khan was a lot better. Then we had Wasim Akram, they did not have a player of that calibre.
We had Javed Miandad, and they had Gavaskar. There is no comparison. Then we had Inzamam, Yousuf, Younis, Shahid Afridi? they had Dravid, Sehwag. If you look at it overall, Pakistan has always produced good players. All these are big reasons. This is why India doesn?t want to play against us,? Abdul Razzaq added.
