Pakistan all set to drop this star all-rounder for the Asia Cup 2025, squad to be announced on this date

The fever for the Asia Cup 2025 is on as all the teams have started their preparations for the same. One of the favourites to win the tournament will Pakistan Cricket Team, who will be captained by Salman Ali Agha. 

The Pakistan squad for the Asia Cup 2025 is something that has been the talk of the town for the last few days. The PCB will soon announce the squad for the tri-nation series against Afghanistan and UAE, along with the tournament. 

As per the reports in Cricket Pakistan, it is learned that PCB is likely to make some key changes to their squad. One of the major changes will be the omission of Shadab Khan. It is learned that the all-rounder's name is not under consideration.

Shadab Khan has been one of the match-winners for Pakistan and has proven his worth time and time again. But since the last few years, his form has gone down, and as a result of that, he is likely to be dropped for the Asia Cup 2025.

The reports claimed that Fakhar Zaman and fast bowler Salman Mirza are expected to be included. The batter's injury is not serious, and it is expected that he will get fit in time by the time the tournament starts, beginning on 9th September.

On the other hand, Salman Mirza will be added to the team to strengthen the bowling lineup. He was sensational with the ball in the Pakistan Super League and the series against Bangladesh.

The Pakistan squad for the Asia Cup 2025 is all set to be announced next week, with a proposal to hold the training camp in Lahore. But the final decision will be taken only after the team returns from the West Indies. It is expected that selectors will name a 16-member squad.
