Young Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna and senior spinner Amit Mishra who had earlier contracted the dreaded virus have now recovered completely. Both the Indian cricketers were infected soon after the progression of the fourteenth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was halted.

Amit Mishra was found covid positive on May 4, the day when IPL got suspended while Krishna was tested positive four days after him.

“Prasidh Krishna has recovered from COVID-19,” a BCCI source told PTI.

Mishra, who played for Delhi Capitals (DC) in IPL 2021, used his Twitter handle to inform his well-wishers about the good news of his recovery. He showed his gratitude towards those who are on constant duty during these testing times.

“The real heroes. Our Frontline workers. All I can say post my recovery is, You have my support and heartfelt appreciation for all you do,” he tweeted.

“We are deeply grateful to you for all the sacrifices that you and your family are making…#grateful #coronawarriors #bcci #DelhiCapitals,” he added.

Earlier, The All India Senior Selection Committee named a 20-member strong squad for the England tour which comprises six test games. Four stand-by players were also announced for the tour with the likes of Abhimanyu Easwaran, Prasidh Krishna, Avesh Khan, Arzan Nagwaswalla.

All the players who are named in the squad are scheduled to assemble in Mumbai on Wednesday for the hard quarantine before heading to the United Kingdom. As per the reports, the Indian contingent will fly to England on June 2 with all the safety precautions in a chartered plane.

India will take on New Zealand in the final of ICC World Test Championship, starting June 18 and subsequently lock horns against England in the five games Test series.
