No TV, No Crowd for Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in VHT

The Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 is all set to begin on December 24, 2025, but fans will not be able to watch Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma on TV or through any online streaming platforms despite these two star players returning to domestic cricket after a long time.

Virat Kohli will represent Delhi while Rohit Sharma will be playing for Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26. Both players are set to play domestic cricket after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) told centrally contracted players to play domestic cricket when not on National Duty.

Why is there no TV or Live Streaming?

Despite the buzz, matches of Delhi and Mumbai involving Kohli and Rohit in the Vijay Hazare Trophy will not be live telecast or streamed. The Vijay Hazare Trophy features 38 teams and around 19 matches are played simultaneously on each day, and the BCCI broadcasts only a limited number of games due to infrastructure constraints.

For the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-2026 season, broadcast facilities have been set up at only two venues:

PC: X

Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad

Niranjan Shah Stadium, Rajkot

Venue Issue for Kohli and Rohit:

Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai team is playing its matches in Jaipur while Virat Kohli’s Delhi side is scheduled to play in Bengaluru at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE). Neither of these venues has live broadcast facilities, so there will be no TV or digital coverage of these matches.

No Crowd for Virat Kohli’s Match

As per the latest reports, Virat Kohli’s match against Andhra Pradesh has been shifted from M. Chinnaswamy Stadium to the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE). This match will be played behind closed doors in Bengaluru due to security concerns and a recent incident during the IPL Trophy Parade.
