Mumbai Indians entered the WPL 2026 Mega Auction with a purse of Rs. 5.75 crore, and MI started the auction with the purchase of Amelia Kerr at a whopping price of Rs. 3.00 crore, which was almost half of their purse. Mumbai Indians (MI) focused on rebuilding the same title-winning WPL 2025 squad.

Mumbai Indians retained a strong core of five players before the WPL 2026 Auction - Harmanpreet Kaur, Nat Sciver-Brunt, Hayley Matthews, Amanjot Kaur and G. Kamalini. Mumbai wasn’t that active in the WPL 2026 Mega Auction as compared to others due to the tight budget, but they bought some strong and quality players.

Another important buy from MI was South African pacer Shabnim Ismail for Rs. 60 lakh. It was a steal pick from Mumbai as She has quite good records in the Women’s Premier League. MI also bought uncapped all-rounder Sankskriti Gupta for Rs. 20 lakh to strengthen their bench and give MI more flexibility in future.
