Lucknow IPL franchise reveals its brand new logo for the IPL team: Weeks ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction 2022, the Lucknow based IPL franchise has unveiled its team logo. The RPSG Group-owned franchise, on Monday, took to Twitter to announce the development and the fans seem to be pretty extensively pleased with the design and concept endorsed.
The logo of the franchise includes the name of the team, Lucknow SuperGiants, along with a bat and ball placed between the wings. The bat and ball are given wings inspired by the colours of the Indian Tricolour.
Explaining the design of the logo adopted, the franchise stated that the design is highly inspired by Indian Mythology. The wings added signifies the mythic bird called – Garuda, which has the power to take a swift flight.
“Lucknow Super Giants, India’s newest IF, team’s brand identity draws inspiration from ancient Indian mythology. The mythical bird Garuda- who is a protector and enthroned with the power to move swiftly, has inspired us to create the winged emblem of the team. Garuda is omnipresent in every Indian culture and sub-culture,” said the franchise in a statement.
The franchise added that the body of the bird is shown with the bat and ball which simply describe the game of cricket.
“The tricolour wings of the entity, symbolically represent Lucknow Super Giants’ Pan -India appeal. The body of the bird has been formed by a blue coloured bat to signify the game of cricket, there is a red ball with an orange seam too. It is like an auspicious Jay tilak’. The identity, as a whole, is endowed with strong positive energy to soar higher and higher and achieve success. Lucknow Super Giants is a team for every Indian. It is a team that unites the nation,” read the statement further.
While there were a lot of fans who appreciated the franchise for adopting a message-driven logo for the team, a few have taken a dig at the franchise for not putting any hard yards to design a unique branding.
The logo of the Lucknow SuperGiants resembles the logo of Rising Pune Supergiants, now defunct IPL franchise formerly owned by RPSG Goenka Group.
Nevertheless, the Lucknow SuperGiants have roped in KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis and young Ravi Bishnoi as their three drafts pick players. Rahul will draw a salary of INR 17 Crores while Stoinis and Bishnoi will receive INR 9.2 Crores and INR 4 Crores respectively.
