Kohli Set to Lose No.1 Spot in ICC ODI Rankings After IND vs NZ 3rd ODI | ICC Team Standings

Virat Kohli is at the No.1 spot in the ICC Players Rankings, but on Wednesday, New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell will replace him as the new No.1 ODI batter, as he played fantastic cricket against India in ODIs.
Kohli Set to Lose No.1 Spot in ICC ODI Rankings

Despite scoring a century in the IND vs NZ 3rd ODI, Virat Kohli is likely to lose the No.1 spot in the ICC Men’s ODI Batting Rankings. New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell will replace him as the new No.1 ODI batter, as he played fantastic cricket against India in ODIs. As of now, Darly Mitchell is at the No.1 spot in the ICC Men’s ODI Batting Rankings, but on Wednesday (Jan 21), he will be the new No.1 ODI batter.

However, after India lost the three-match ODI series against New Zealand by 2-1, they are  still the No.1 ODI Team in the latest ICC ODI Team Standings with a rating of 119, while New Zealand is in second spot with a rating of 114. Both teams played good cricket, but New Zealand outsmarted India in some areas.

On the other hand, Rohit Sharma, who was the No.1 ODI batter last month, now slips to the third spot in the ICC ODI Rankings. Rohit didn’t perform well in this series; he was able to score only 61 runs in three matches. However, Virat Kohli scored 240 runs in three games, including an exceptional knock of 124 runs off 108 balls in the third ODI.

ICC Player Rankings:

As of now, Virat Kohli is the No.1 ODI batter in the ICC Men’s ODI Batting Rankings with a rating of 785, but on Wednesday, Daryl Mitchell will replace him as the new No.1 ODI batter, who is currently at the No.2 spot. Currently, 4 Indian players are in the top 10 of ICC Men’s ODI Batting Rankings.

But, Only one Indian player in the Top 10 of ICC Men’s ODI Bowling Ranking and ICC Men’s ODI All-Rounder Rankings, respectively. Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan is the No.1 ODI bowler with a rating of 710, while Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai is the No.1 ODI all-rounder with a rating of 334.  

From the Indian side, Kuldeep Yadav is at the No.3 spot in the bowling rankings with a rating of 649, while Axar Patel is at No.10 in the all-rounder rankings with a rating of 211. India's Men’s National Cricket Team needs to focus on the bowling and all-rounder sections to win matches and improve their ICC Rankings.
