Kohli & Rohit IN, Jaiswal & Jurel OUT, India's Probable Playing XI for the 1st ODI vs Australia | India vs Australia 1st ODI

India vs Australia 1st ODI match is all set to start from October 19, 2025, at Optus Stadium (Perth Stadium) in Perth, Australia. Shubman Gill will start his tenure as the ODI captain of the Indian National Cricket Team. However, with the return of star players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, young stars Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel are expected to miss out on the 1st ODI match.

India is looking for experience and a balanced lineup for the tough Australian conditions against a strong Australian lineup. Jasprit Bumrah is rested for the three-match ODI series against Australia, whereas Hardik Pandya is unavailable due to an injury during the Asia Cup 2025.

Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma are set to open for the India team in the 1st ODI against Australia in Perth. Rohit Sharma has played lots of cricket in Australia, and his experience is going to help young star Shubman Gill in this series, both as a captain and player. 

Yashasvi Jasiwal was in contention for the opening with Rohit Sharma, but to make the lineup balanced, he isn't part of the Playing XI. Virat Kohli is all set to return after a couple of months to cricket, and it is going to be exciting to see him playing in Australia.

Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul will be leading the middle-order batting department. Both these players have been reliable options at these positions, and they have consistently performed for the team. 

Rahul was even part of the test series against the West Indies and played exceptional cricket there, so he will try to carry forward the same momentum here in Australia. Nitish Kumar Reddy is playing in place of Hardik Pandya, and there will be lots of expectations from him.

Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, and Harshit Rana will be the frontline pacers of the Indian Team in the 1st ODI in Perth. Since the Australian conditions demand pace and bounce, playing with three pacers is going to be a good choice for Shubman Gill.
