Jhulan Goswami: The Best of Indian Cricket Retires from All Formats of Cricket. 2022 

Jhulan Goswami, a true legend of Indian Cricket has announced her retirement from all forms of international cricket. Her retirement was always around the corner with her playing for 23 to 24 years. Her international career spans 19 and a half years long making it the second longest ODI career, with the first one being that of her teammate and dear friend Mithali Raj. Jhulan played over 270 international games for the Indian team. She was India’s strike bowler in most of these games. Here is an in-depth look at the retirement and her stats: 

Jhulan Goswami Retirement: 

Goswami announced her retirement a day before the game against England at Lord’s which also happened to be the 3rd and last ODI of the India Women VS England Women ODI series. India won the series by 3-0. It was a thumping series win. The Indian women gave the Brits no chance of a comeback. They were decently clinical in all games. Harmanpreet Kaur was adjudged the “Woman of the Series” and “Renuka Singh was adjudged “Woman of the Match” for her splendid performance. 

Jhulan’s performance in the last game saw her concede 30 runs of her full quota of 10 overs while he took 2 wickets. Jhulan received a guard of honor from the English players as she walked out to bat. This speaks volumes of the influence that Jhulan has had on the game.
