IPL 2026: Top 10 Players Who can Win Player of the Tournament Award

Mumbai Indians star player Suryakumar Yadav won the player of the tournament award in the IPL 2025. He scored 717 runs at an average of 65.18 with a strike rate of 167.91.

The defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, are all set for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, and they will play the first match of the tournament against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on March 28, 2026. It will be interesting to watch who will dominate the IPL 2026 and win the Player of the tournament award.

Gujarat Titans key pacer Prasidh Krishna won the purple cap after he took 25 wickets at an economy rate of 8.27, while GT’s Sai Sudharsan won the orange cap as he scored 759 runs.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) - Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is one of the top contenders to win the player of the tournament even after retiring from the T20Is. Virat has played dominating cricket in the past seasons of the Indian Premier League. He is the top scorer of the Indian Premier League (IPL) as he scored 8661 runs, and he also holds the record for the most runs in a season, 973 runs in 16 matches.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) - Shreyas Iyer

Shreyas Iyer will be the key player for the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the IPL 2026. He had played quite good cricket in the last season as he scored more than 600 runs. Iyer will play a crucial role in the middle-order of Punjab Kings in the IPL 2206 and is expected to perform better and compete in the Player of the Tournament race.

Gujarat Titans (GT) - Sai Sudharsan

Sai Sudharsan has been consistently performing for the Gujarat Titans in the past two seasons, and he also won the orange cap in the IPL 2025. Sai scored 759 runs at an average of 54.21 with a strike rate of 156.17. If he maintains his form, he could once again dominate the tournament and become a strong MVP contender.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) - Sanju Samson

After the trade with the Rajasthan Royals, Sanju Samson will now play for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2026. Sanju is known for his power-hitting and match-winning innings. Recently, He played exceptional cricket in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 and helped India to lift their second consecutive title.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) - Ishan Kishan

​Ishan Kishan has been playing impressive cricket in the T20Is, and he is expected to replicate the same performance in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Ishan looks in great form, and he is a serious contender for the Player of the Tournament award.
