In what has been the latest development as per the reports in Sports Tak, it is learned that Rishabh Pant will be a strong candidate to captain Chennai Super Kings. The reports added that the Delhi Capitals skipper will be traded ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

The reports suggested that Chennai Super Kings have already sorted their future leader after MS Dhoni. It was expected that team management would give giving baton to Ruturaj Gaikwad. But they have reportedly chosen Rishabh Pant as his successor.

Ms Dhoni will potentially be playing his last season in the IPL in 2024. To hand the captaincy to someone else will be a tough task for CSK because they recently tried that and it didn’t work. In IPL 2022, Ravindra   Jadeja was given the leadership but he failed.

Chennai Super Kings were the second team to be eliminated from the tournament and after that MS Dhoni took the baton back. He guided the team to a title win in 2023. But IPL 2024 is expected to be his last season in the tournament and the real test for CSK will begin.

However, with reports related to Rishabh Pant being there will be a massive boost for them. In the Indian team as well, the left-hander replaced MS Dhoni and is doing a great job. Therefore CSK would be expecting the same if the reports are true. Pant has been part since he started playing IPL.

He recently was made captain of the team and did a great job. However, him moving to CSK could be one of the biggest moves in the IPL. Recently R Ashwin also suggested something similar, stating that CSK wanted a keeper batter in trade as a replacement for MS Dhoni but the trade couldn’t work.
