IPL 2023: Delhi Capitals are having a torrid time in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. The David Warner-led side has lost all five games in the tournament and is reeling last on the points table. Their chances to qualify for the playoffs have been dented and it’s fair to say that they need some superlative effort from their players to get back on track.

Nothing is going right for Delhi Capitals (DC) in the ongoing IPL 2023. The David Warner-led side has suffered five consecutive losses and to worsen the case more, it is learned as per the reports in Indian Express that the equipments of the players have been stolen ahead of their game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). 

The reports suggest that Sixteen bats, along with pads, shoes, thigh-pads and gloves were stolen from the kit bags of players after they landed in Delhi after their game against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Chinnaswamy stadium.

It is learned that out of 16 bats, three belong to skipper David Warner, two to all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, three to English batter Philip Salt and six to youngster Yash Dhull. The reports also revealed that bats of foreign players cost around lacs. Whereas shoes, gloves, and thigh pads of a few others players also went missing. 

Delhi Capitals players got to know about the development when they received their kit bags in the hotel. The issue has been reported to the police by the franchise. It is also learned that players have arranged a few bats from the companies for their next game.

A source close to Delhi Capitals told Indian Express that players were shocked after their equipments were stolen and said that the investigation is on. He said: 

“All of them were shocked when they heard that everyone had lost something or the other from their kit bags. This is the first time such an incident has happened and the matter was soon raised to the logistics department, police and later at the airport. The investigation is on.”

Delhi Capitals will be next seen in action when they will lock horns against Kolkata Knight Riders in their next game on 20th April (Thursday).
