RCB Team 2023 Retained and Released Player List

Since the RCB team has been doing consistently well for the past 3 years, the franchise hasn’t changed much. This year the team has retained 18 players and released only 4 players which is why the franchise is left with only Rs 8.75 crores in the auction.

List of retained players: Faf du Plessis (capt), Virat Kohli, Suyash Prabhudessai, Rajat Patidar, Dinesh Karthik, Anuj Rawat, Finn Allen, Glenn Maxwell, Wanindu Hasaranga, Shahbaz Ahmed, Harshal Patel, David Willey, Karn Sharma, Mahipal Lomror, Mohammed Siraj, Josh Hazlewood, Siddarth Kaul, Akash Deep

List of released players: Sherfane Rutherford, Luvnith Sisodia, Aneeshwar Gautam, Chama Milind

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Targeted Players

If we all take a look at the current RCB players, it seems that the team is all set for the 2023 IPL. Since the franchise has not released many players, the team does not have much purse balance, due to which they cannot bid on big players like Sam Curran, Jason Holder, or Ben Stokes in the auction. But to make a squad of 25 players, the franchise will have to buy 7 players from the auction, of which 2 foreign players and 5 Indian players will be there. In this article, we will learn about those two foreign players on whom RCB can bet.

1. Adam Zampa

Adam Zampa

The CPL and the Indian Premier League are just two of the T20 leagues where Zampa has continued to shine. The youthful leg-spinner appeared to have become accustomed to the dry fields in India, as he produced the second-best bowling numbers in the 2016 Indian Premier League when he claimed 6/19 against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (albeit in a losing cause). He performed well in the CPL as well, finishing the year with 15 wickets.

Adam Zampa is well familiar with the RCB team as he has played in this team earlier also. His base price is 1.5 crores, RCB can retain him in their team if no franchise bids on him.

Daryl Mitchell

31-year-old New Zealand player Daryl Mitchell has been doing well for his team over the years. He has played only two matches in the IPL. The brilliant all-around batsman from New Zealand has excelled in T20 cricket. Daryl Mitchell has scored 786 runs at a strike rate of 139.12 in 41 T20 games. While bowling, he has taken seven wickets.

We’ve all seen RCB fail to reach the league stage on numerous occasions. In this situation, the team needs an all-rounder who can bat in the middle order. His base price is Rs. 1 crore.
