The Royal Challengers Bangalore were truly a side that showed great determination and will to succeed this season, bringing along with them a powerful bunch of individuals who really were at one point seemingly better than anyone else. The franchise just like the previous seasons worked a lot on its game plan, strategies and player combinations which could bring the best possible results for the team on the field. The management did an excellent job in retaining the quality players while purchasing quite a few excellent players to fill up the gaps that had developed in the squad over the last few seasons. 

The newly appointed captain, Faf Du Plessis did a fine job and all the departments showed brilliant performances time after time as the team fantastically managed to finish at fourth position by the end of the group stages. The team also managed to win the eliminator game against Lucknow Super Giants in a high-scoring encounter. 

However, that proved to be the last thing to smile about for them as they went on to crash out in the next game, where the Rajasthan Royals absolutely demolished the men in red in the qualifier 2, ending their hopes of lifting the cup. In spite of ending another season on a sad note, the royal challengers will have plenty of positives to take from the IPL 2022. Several newly drafted players lived up to their worth while the old fearless approach of the team was prevalent once again.

Despite missing out on an opportunity to lift the prestigious IPL trophy in 2022, the Royal Challengers are going to be a strong contender to win the IPL next year in 2023. The team seemed to be in absolutely fine rhythm under the new captain Faf Du Plessis who lead his team to a pretty fine position in the previous season as a captain for the first time. The team is well equipped with a batting powerhouse and the bowlers too have displayed consistent performances time after time.

The only concern for the team has been the poor form of Virat Kohli who has failed to get runs batting at the top of the order. The management will hopefully be looking for a better opening option in the mini auction ahead of IPL 2023 thereby asking Virat Kohli to bat down at no.3 like the earlier seasons.
