IPL 2023 Auction: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Release, Retains and Probable Players List, Squad all you know: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) once again followed the same story plot in the recently completed Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) season fifteen that it used to follow in the previous edition of the tournament. The franchise gave plenty of hopes and positives throughout the tournament but ended up losing the eliminator, breaking the hearts of its millions of fans once again.
The Bangalore-based franchise began its season pretty nicely with three wins in the first four matches. They continued to be at the same pace but got derailed towards the end of the league stages. However, Mumbai Indians’ brilliance helped RCB owing to which the latter team sealed its place in the top four.
It seemed that everything is perfectly aligned for RCB to break its jinx and fill its trophy cabinet. But, little did everyone know that the Indian Premier League (IPL) is not that easy to predict. RCB lost to Rajasthan Royals in the eliminator and the wait for their maiden IPL title continued.
However, this edition’s IPL was different for RCB in various aspects. There were several positives for the team. A strong-headed captain in Faf du Plessis was one of the biggest positives. Moreover, RCB strongly managed to remove dependency from two or three core players. The entire unit performed well in the recently completed IPL 2022.
Following the retirement of AB de Villiers, a big question popped up ahead of the management, how will they fill the void created by de Villiers’ retirement. But, Dinesh Karthik’s services gave answers to all the questions which is another positive for RCB.
RCB now possess a steady middle order. The glitch of over-dependency on two, or three major players is now completely addressed by the franchise. The likes of Glenn Maxwell, Rajat Patidar, Shahbaz Ahmad and Dinesh Karthik perfectly form a solid and formidable middle order.
Moreover, the bowling unit was also impressive in the IPL 2022. Harshal Patel, Wanindu Hasaranga and Josh Hazlewood were all exceptional in their execution. Mohd Siraj’s performance gave hiccups throughout the tournament to the RCB, but he is a fine pacer and will make a strong comeback in the next season.
The upcoming season will be crucial for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. However, ahead of anything, RCB will have to go through the auction process. The franchise will retain most of its players, but a few players will be removed from the squad.
