IPL 2023-27 media rights sold for INR 44,075 Crores: Sources: The Indian Premier League’s media rights for the next five-year cycle have breached the INR 40,000 Crores mark on day 2 of the high stake bidding. The actual price for the IPL 2023-27 media rights is marked at INR 44,075 Crores as per the sources who are in the know of the development.

The world’s lucrative cricket league has shattered all its past records as the media rights value swells over forty thousand crores on day two. The IPL is now only second to America’s NFL in terms of media rights. Media rights of the NFL are valued at INR 136 crores per match.

As per the latest information, the TV rights (Package A) is sold at INR 23,575 Crores which will draw Rs 57.5 Crores per match while the Digital Rights (Package B) has been sold for INR 20,500 Crores which makes Rs 50 Crores per match. Both the packages were for the Indian subcontinent region for complete IPL matches in the next five years.

The details of the winners of the media rights in each package are yet to be revealed by the BCCI, however, it can be confirmed that the total value per match of the IPL is Rs 107.5 crore (TV + Digital).

The media rights value of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has grown over 2.5 times than what Star paid the BCCI back in 2017 for the five years. 

Even though the BCCI hasn’t confirmed the details of the winners, several news outlets have reported that Disney Star has won the TV rights while Viacom 18 has bagged the digital rights.

The bidding for the two other packages (C&D) will spill to day three, confirm the BCCI on Monday. Package C contains 18 specific matches in each IPL season while Package D will have all TV and digital matches for the overseas audience.
