IPL 2022 – Retention and RTM card

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has scrapped the usage of the Right To Match (RTM) card for the upcoming IPL 2022 Mega Auctions.

Experts believe that due to four-player retentions, the BCCI may have taken that step. Furthermore, it is learnt that the RTM card will be unfair for the two new IPL franchises.

Update: IPL franchises are allowed to retain 4 players, either it can be 3 Indians and 1 overseas or 2 Indians and 2 overseas for IPL 2022 ahead of the mega auction.
