IPL 2021: Chennai Super Kings all set to release Kedar Jadhav from the squad ahead of IPL 2021

IPL 2021: Chennai Super Kings all set to release Kedar Jadhav from the squad ahead of IPL 2021.

IPL 2021 News & Updates: The 35-years old Chennai batsman, Kedar Jadhav is likely to lose his contract with the Chennai Super Kings ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. As per the recent information regarding trading players, Chennai Super Kings management is looking to release Jadhav to the pool of players in the auctions.

Kedar Jadhav who was supposed to give depth to Chennai batting lineup in the lower order in absence of Suresh Raina failed to capitalize on his chances. The last year IPL held in UAE turned out to be a disaster for the 35-years old.

The top CSK official said that Kedar Jadhav will not be a part of the CSK anymore as the management will be moving ahead and not considering him for the following IPL. His name will be sent to the trading players.

Indian Premier League governing council held the virtual meeting on Monday and after which the BCCI opened the trading window for the franchises. Also, the franchises have been asked to release the players by 20 January for the trade.

CSK decided to part ways with Kedar Jadhav:

“Kedar Jadhav clearly was not in his top form in the previous season of IPL. He was fighting hard for the single runs and also struggling with his form and fitness. Chennai will move forward from him in 2021 and it will be better for the management to invest in a promising future,” a top CSK official told.

While it is clear that the Mumbai based cricketer will lose his contract worth a whopping 7.8 crores, it must be noted that the cricketer was not in good touch in the delayed season of IPL.

He struggled to score runs. Jadhav in total amassed 62 runs in 8 games he got. The strike rate of below 100 pulls him more.

The all-rounder was given the role to play in the lower order. Chennai Super Kings in absence of Suresh Raina changed the lineup and asked Jadhav to play in the 5-6 position.

However, he failed to create a single impact in that order where scoring runs from the very first ball is crucial for the team.
