INDvsAUS Test: In the latest turn of events, team India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has once again resumed bowling in the nets ahead of all-important India vs Australia test series, giving hope for his test return midway through the series against Australia.
The fast bowler suffered a back injury after the England tour last year in September. He missed some of the important assignments for his team including Asia Cup 2022, and T20 World Cup 2022 and is now slated to be sidelined for the half of the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
Interestingly, Jasprit Bumrah was announced to make his ODI comeback during the recently held India vs Sri Lanka ODI series, however, his name was pulled back last minute as it came to light that the pacer still has a niggle and isn’t completely sure of his fitness.
Now as per the reports available, Jasprit Bumrah has started bowling in the NCA and the medical team is sure of the pacer’s comeback into the Indian side for the last two tests against Australia, if he doesn’t feel any discomfort in his back.
“Yes, Jasprit Bumrah has started bowling in the nets,” confirmed a reliable source. “Let’s hope all goes well and he’s declared fit.”
India vs Australia 2023 Test series, famously known as the Border Gavaskar Trophy, will begin on 9th February in Nagpur. Team India has a couple of pace options to replace Jasprit Bumrah in the opening two test matches against Australia. The likes of Mohammad Siraj, Mohammad Shami, Umesh Yadav and Jaydev Unadkat will have to do the job for India. While it can be confirmed that Mohd Siraj and Shami will be India’s two frontline bowlers but one of Umesh Yadav and Jaydev Unadkat could be picked in the final playing11 depending on the conditions.
For the spinning role, team India has plenty of mouth-watering options in R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav.
