Indian players to do ‘symbolic protest’ during IND vs PAK clash in the Asia Cup 2025
IND vs PAK: The Indian Cricket Team is all set to clash with the Pakistan Cricket Team in the sixth match of the Asia Cup 2025. The match between the two teams will take place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.
The India vs Pakistan clash has been in the news for a while. This is because of the Pahalgham terror attack, there were calls to boycott the clash. Many fans and ex-cricketers urged the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to cancel the game and even boycott the tournament.
However, as per the Indian Ministry, the games between the two teams in the ICC events and ACC events must go on, and there won’t be any bilateral series between the sides. This meant that the India vs Pakistan match will be on, and both teams will be going neck to neck with each other.
Despite the boycott chatter being in the news. Amid all this, as per the reports in NDTV, it is learned that the mood in the Indian camp is sombre and players are planning a symbolic protest during the IND vs PAK clash in the Asia Cup 2025.
The players are planning a symbolic protest, and it may be handshake snubs, black armbands, or other possible avenues. This could send a strong message to many, and if that happens, it is expected that it will be a high-tension game between the sides.
We obviously are aware of the sentiments and the strong feelings - Assistant coach Ryan Ten Doeschate
Even assistant coach Ryan Ten Doeschate, during the press conference, claimed that they are aware of the player’s sentiments. He also shared Gautam Gambhir’s message to the players amid tensions and said:
"We obviously are aware of the sentiments and the strong feelings. And Gauti's (Gautam Gambhir) message has just been very professional, about not worrying about things that are not in our control. I have no doubt the players share the compassion and feeling of the vast majority of the Indian public," he said.
This is the second time that India has faced Pakistan this year. They earlier played against each other during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. During that clash too, India beat the opposition.
