The Indian Cricket Team won the bilateral T20 series against South Africa by 2-1 on Tuesday night. The last game of the series saw South Africa beat India by a whopping margin of 49 runs. Rilee Rossouw was the star with the bat scoring an unbeaten 100. He was toying with the Indian bowlers. India was already a batsman short and their bad shot selection proved costly. Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant tried but it was high time by then. So, what are the 3 overall learnings from India VS South Africa T20I Series? Here is an in-depth look:

1) South African Batting Unit is World Class:

The South African cricket team generally gets praise for its bowling unit but its batters have performed out of their skins in the last two games of the series. The first game was a cakewalk for the Indian Cricket Team. But that was not the case in the 2nd and 3rd games. David Miller, Rilee Rossouw, Quinton De Kock, and Tristan Stubbs are got hitters of the ball.

The South African team just needs to figure out if Temba Bavuma fits in the squad or if is it time for Reeza Hendricks. If South African batters play in the same form in Australia, South Africa are contenders for the trophy.

2) Indian Cricket Team Bowling Lineup is Struggling:

The Indian bowling lineup was great in the first game at Trivandrum. But as soon as the games shifted to venues which are not bowler friendly, the bowlers were taken for runs. The Indian batting lineup scored 237 in the second game hence India won, else if it would have been somewhere around 220, India would have easily lost. Arshdeep conceded 26 runs in the penultimate over in the last game and 19 runs in the second last game. Death bowling is a major concern in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah.

3) Suryakumar Yadav is the Most Important Indian Batter at the Moment:

Suryakumar Yadav is India’s most important T20 batter at the moment on the Indian Cricket Team. If we have one player who can effectively deal with the extra pace and extra bounce of the Australian pitches, it has to be Surya. Surya is a 360-degree player. He is the Indian “AB De Villers”. He made his debut late, but his presence on the field leaves an impression every time. The Indian team will be playing him at number 5 which happens to be one of the most crucial positions in the T20 game. But Surya is an adaptable player and will do what the team requires.
