The Indian Women’s Cricket Team enjoyed a great campaign in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. Under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur, they delivered a magical performance in the entire tournament with the bat and ball.
They started the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 with two back-to-back wins against Pakistan and Sri Lanka. But faced an immediate setback in the next games as they lost three consecutive games against South Africa, Australia and England.
India also faced the threat of elimination but they made a strong comeback and beat New Zealand. This sealed them a place in the semi-final and they came up with their best in the knockout stages. In the semi-final against Australia, they scripted history.
India made the record for the highest ever chase in the WODI, chasing a 339-run target. This earned them a place in the final, where they defeated South Africa by 52 runs. Deepti Sharma was the star with the bat and ball, hitting fifty and taking a fifer with the ball.
