India VS Zimbabwe tour will get underway in a few days. On Tuesday morning, the news was floated by the BCCI that Washington Sundar, the right-arm off-break bowler and left-handed batter from Tamil Nadu has injured his shoulder. Shahbaz Ahmed, the left-arm off-spinner from Bengal is set to replace him. Shahbaz has previously played for RCB in the Indian Premier League. The RCB lineup backs this youngster. But who is he? Washington Sundar, a player who often has an injury concern, is going to miss out on another series due to a shoulder injury. Washington has been an asset to the Indian team, whenever he has been fit and available. But his absence has made way for many other bowlers. It was last year that Ravichandran Ashwin got a surprise call-up in the absence of Washi to play for the ICC T20 World Cup in UAE. This time around as well, it is Shahbaz Ahmed, who happens to be the lucky one.

He has match-winning abilities. If effectively backed and he remains fit, he can win games for team India too. With the support and guidance of Virat Kohli, Ahmed has been growing.
