India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2025 clash to go as per the announced schedule - Reports

The India vs Pakistan clash in the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 is all set to be played as per the schedule. In the last few days, there have been a lot of reports claiming that the match will be cancelled due to the political tensions between the two nations. 

The India vs Pakistan match in the Asia Cup 2025 will be taking place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on 14th September. But since the schedule has been announced, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has faced a lot of criticism. 

After the Pahalgam terror attack, there were calls to cut all the cricketing ties with Pakistan. Many fans and pundits urged BCCI not to schedule matches against Pakistan even in the Asia Cup and the ICC tournaments. 

Even India Champions pulled out of their game against Pakistan Champions in the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025. They also did the same in the semi-final of the tournament, with Pakistan advancing to the final of the event. 

After this, there were reports that the India vs Pakistan game might not go as per schedule. But the latest reports have claimed that the game between the two teams will go as per the schedule of the tournament.

Subhan Ahmed, who is the chief operating officer of the Emirates Cricket Board, said that the Asia Cup 2025 clash between India and Pakistan will go as per schedule. Speaking to The National, he said: 

“We can’t make any guarantees, but comparing the Asia Cup against a private event like the WCL is not a like-for-like comparison. When decisions to play in the Asia Cup are taken, government permissions are taken in advance. 

"That has definitely been done before arriving at the decision to announce the schedule for the countries. So hopefully we won’t be in a situation as there was at the WCL," he added. 

India and Pakistan are expected to clash thrice in the Asia Cup 2025. If they qualify from the group stage, they are expected to play in the Super Four stage. However, after that, if they reached the final, it would be the third time they faced.
