India vs England Test Series: BCCI to allow 50 per-cent crowd for 2nd Test match

India vs England Series: Team India clears first of 3 Covid-19 tests.

India vs England Series: Team India has cleared the first of the three Covid-19 tests on Thursday and will undergo two more before heading out for practice in Chennai.

India and England will play a four-game test series starting 5th February and the practice will begin from 2nd February if all the players will be tested negative in all three rounds of RT-PCR testing.

Both Indian and England contingent arrived in Chennai on 27th January and have been quarantined in Leela Palace Hotel.

“The SOP for the quarantine and all the protocols will be the same as in the IPL bio-bubble. The Indian players have crossed first round and two more will be done in coming days before we will get to train. Players are confined to their rooms, till they clear all three tests,” senior BCCI official told PTI on the condition of anonymity.

The players will do some physical exercise and basic training inside their rooms and under the eyes of two strength and conditioning experts, Nick Webb and Soham Desai.

The BCCI has allowed all the players to keep their families with them in the hotel rooms. Otherwise, it could be extremely lonely during the hard quarantine phase.

Team India’s Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane, limited-over vice-captain Rohit Sharma, wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant and all-rounder Hardik Pandya have all brought up their families with them. All the players informed with their social media handles.

“All the boys have come from a gruelling tour in Australia. Hard isolation can be mind-disturbing sometimes and this can be diluted with the presence of family members with them. Their families will help them to remain in a good headspace and the players will start afresh.”
