IPL 2021: Former KKR player, Tom Banton likely to pull out of IPL 2021.

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021: As per the recent reports, Former KKR player Tom Banton is considering to focus more on his domestic cricket to get a break into England’s red-ball side. The top-order batsman is likely to pull out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 ahead of the mini-auctions.

The 22 years old cricketer warmed the bench in the previous season of IPL and got just two appearances in the cash-rich league. The English cricketer wants to focus more on his techniques and gameplay so that he can perform well in England’s domestic circuit and get into England’s Test side.

“Every cricketer around the globe wants to play cricket as much as he can and So do I. I would love to be in the ground and not warming the bench. I did that last time,” Tom Banton said.

“Growing as a kid, I loved watching the competition in the Indian Premier League (IPL). But right now, am at that stage when I want myself to play more cricket and not warm the bench.”

“The last year has taught me quite a bit, obviously all these tournaments are great but a lot of them I’ve been sat on the sidelines and not really doing a huge amount. I miss batting and playing cricket if I’m being honest,” he added.

Playing test cricket for England is my dream: Tom Banton

English cricket, Tom Banton in IPL 2020 scored 18 runs of the two games he got. Banton also finds his name in the list of released players by KKR.

“All these tournaments are good but my aim from childhood is to play red-ball cricket. I will surely opt for that and play cricket for Somerset and keep learning. If by this I can get a chance to play for England’s Test side than it would be a dream come true for me.”

“The time will decide, I haven’t made my mind yet. I will try to contact a few peoples and will take the step after that,” Banton concluded.
