INDIA vs BANGLADESH 2nd Test: Pitch Report

Akin to the two ODIs played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium a few weeks ago, this pitch will again favor spinners early on. Throughout the second Test, they will be able to get a grip, turn, and bounce, and starting on the third day, the pitch should only get better for them.

Sher-e-Bangla Stadium pitch report (Twitter)

The Sher-e-Bangla Stadium pitch at Mirpur is not as pleasant for batters as it was in Chattogram. Having said that, the batsmen may enjoy their time once they spend some time at the crease, acknowledge the spin, and get their eye in especially if the pitch stays flat.

When a Test match was last held here (in May 2022), the batsmen from Bangladesh and Sri Lanka together scored four centuries and five half-centuries over the course of the four innings. The match outcome could be determined by how well either side’s spinners bowl throughout the Test.

Given that Rohit Sharma is still recovering from the thumb injury he suffered during the second ODI a few weeks ago, KL Rahul will once again lead India. Due to the development, Shubman Gill, who produced his maiden Test century during the first game, would probably once again open the innings alongside Rahul.
