India’s Probable ODI Squad vs South Africa | IND vs SA ODI 2025

After the two-match test series, India Men’s National Cricket Team will be playing the three-match ODI series against South Africa. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be back in action after the Australia series. Both players are expected to perform well in this series; however, Kohli is a little out of form, but one match's momentum can change everything.

India vs South Africa ODI series will start from November 30, 2025, and the first ODI match will be played in Ranchi, Jharkhand. Some of the key players are unavailable for the series due to injury and workload management. Shubman Gill, Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, and Shreyas Iyer are some of the names.

Gill is doubtful for the ODI series vs South Africa:

Shubman Gill, who was appointed India’s new ODI captain and made his captaincy debut against Australia last month. Gill is unlikely to be part of this ODI series due to a neck injury suffered during day two of first test in Kolkata. He was ruled out of the second test against South Africa in Guwahati.

Shreyas Iyer is Likely to miss out:

India’s ODI vice-captain Shreyas Iyer is also unlikely to play the three-match ODI series. Iyer suffered a serious injury during the third ODI against Australia in October, and he is still recovering.

However, Tilak Verma is expected to replace him in the squad. He has been consistently performing for the Indian Team whenever he gets a chance. He played an unbeaten 69 runs match-winning knock against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 Final.

Who will replace Gill at the Top?

If Gill is ruled out, the selectors might go for either Yashasvi Jasiwal or Ruturaj Gaikwad; however, chances are quite high that Jaiswal will be picked due to the left-right combination. But Ruturaj Gaikwad has performed exceptionally in domestic cricket in recent times, so it’s going to be a tough choice.

Who will lead India’s ODI team?

As per the reports, Rohit Sharma is expected to get the ODI captaincy for the three-match ODI series against South Africa. However, Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul are also in the queue, but they will get a chance only when Rohit Sharma doesn't accept the captaincy offer.
