India vs England: Team India moved up the ranks after the first test humiliating loss to win the next three games on the bounce and became the number 1 test team in the world. Hosts defeated England in the fourth and final test at Ahmedabad on Day 3 itself by an innings and 25 runs. 

India with the win bagged the series along with the ticket for the final of ICC World Test Championship 2021. India will now face New Zealand in the final of the inaugural Test championship at Lords on June 18th.

England opened the series with a scintillating win at Chennai. Joe Root England skipper smashed a brilliant double century to run on the roads of success after a clean sweep of Sri Lanka in Sri Lanks.

However, India backed themselves and came back stronger to win the next three games.

India is also at the top of the ICC World Test Championship points table. With massive 510 points, India has a success rate of 72.2 per-cent. In the 6 test series games of the World Championship, India have managed to win 12 while one game ended in a draw against Australia. Second, on the list is New Zealand with a 70.0 per cent success rate.

With the series win, Indians have made it to the top of ICC Test Teams Ranking once again. India have 122 points on the boards while New Zealand have 118 points after a supreme home season of cricket.

The third and fourth on the list are Australia and England. With 113 points Aussies sits at number 3 while their arch-rivals Englands are equipped with 105 points.

The table has a huge gap of numbers between the top four test teams and the bottom six. Pakistan (90), South Africa (89), Sri Lanka (83), and West Indies (80) are next in the rankings.
