India and South Africa are all set to face each other in the second ODI of the IDFC FIRST BANK three-match series at Raipur's Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Cricket Ground on Wednesday, 3rd of  December. After winning the first match, the Men in Blue will be looking to extend their lead and eventually win the series.

The KL Rahul-led outfit held their nerve in a thrilling match in Ranchi, defeating South Africa by 17 runs to take a 1-0 lead. Virat Kohli's fifty-second ODI century helped the home team post 349, including half-centuries from Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul.

Batting first after losing the toss for the 19th consecutive ODI, India made a strong start. Rohit and Kohli shared a partnership of over 100 runs, with Rohit breaking the record for most ODI sixes. India managed to score 349 runs.

The visitors got off to a poor start, with Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh taking three wickets in less than five overs. Matthew Breetzke held one end, but Marco Jansen's quickfire fifty off 26 balls kept the Proteas in the contest. Kuldeep Yadav's double-strike brought India back into the game, but Corbin Bosch's fifty dragged the match further into the match. Needing 18 runs from the last over, Bosch's dismissal ended South Africa's innings, leaving them all out for 332.

Head-2-Head record in T20 games

The Proteas have won 51 of the 95 matches between South Africa and India, while the Men in Blue have won 41.  The three remaining games were called off.

Pitch-Report

The Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur is known for its slow pitch, which favors medium-fast and slow bowlers. Given the excellent quality of pitches throughout the series, another high-scoring thriller is expected, pointing to a good pitch for the batsmen.
