IND-W vs BAN-W: Bangladesh Defeated India by 4 Wickets

IND-W vs BAN-W: Another poor batting performance from India and this time, the bowlers couldn’t defend it! Bangladesh were better than the last appearance where they choked on the peak. Bangladesh escape a loss and defeated India by 4 wickets in a low-scoring match.

For the third time in a row, the team batting first has failed to breach the 115 mark. Pitches are quite slow but batters are not up to the mark. Last time Bangladesh choked but they turned things around this time. Though Bangladesh W beat India in the last T20I, India have won the IND-W vs BAN-W T20I series 2-1.

After winning the toss, Nigar Sultana stated that she aimed to keep India’s score around 110, and her bowlers performed an excellent job of limiting the visitors. Harmanpreet and Yastika had India in a comfortable position at 90/3, but as they continued to lose wickets while looking for huge smashes, everything started to fall apart. In the final four overs, India only scored 12 runs while losing 6 wickets. India Women totaled 102 after 20 overs.

When it came to the chase, Bangladesh, led by Shamima Sultana, were considerably more focused on rotating the strike and snagging the odd boundary, something they failed to do consistently in the previous game and ultimately paid for. They were in a good position until two successive wickets in the 17th over raised some concerns.

Scenes from the last match would have floated in Bangladesh’s dugout when they lost 4 wickets for 23 runs in the middle. Rashi Kanojiya’s 13 runs conceded in the 18th over which, however, proved to be the difference-maker and all but guaranteed the home team’s victory.
