IND vs. SL Highlights: Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka elected to bat first after winning the toss in the 2nd match of the 3-match series being played at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata today. The mystery spinner returning to the team from India showed his magic and destroyed the Sri Lankan middle order. Kuldeep Yadav took three important wickets, giving away 51 runs in 10 overs. Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj also took 3 wickets, while fellow bowler Umran Malik also got 2 wickets. Sri Lanka’s team was unable to bat even for the full 50 overs; Sri Lanka scored 215 runs in 39.4 overs.

India’s chase of the target got off to a poor start. India had four wickets gone at one point, with the score at 86 runs. KL Rahul, who batted at number five, however, played a cautious inning and secured the victory for Team India. Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav all helped him out during this.

Rohit and Virat’s bat remained silent

India got off to a rough start. Four of his batsmen had left the pavilion down by 86 runs. After hitting 28 runs, the captain, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Shreyas Iyer were all out. The highest 50 runs were scored earlier by Nuwanidu Fernando, a Sri Lankan making his international debut. Dunith Wellalage and Kushal Mendis both scored 34 and 32 runs, respectively.

KL Rahul Played Brilliantly

Mohammad Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav were crucial to Team India’s success in bowling. At the same time, KL Rahul, an accomplished batsman, excelled in the middle order. After four wickets fell for 86 runs, he took over the innings as he and Hardik Pandya added 75 runs for the fifth wicket. After facing 53 balls and scoring 36 runs, Hardik was given the boot. Rahul had Axar Patel’s support behind him. For the sixth wicket, they combined for a partnership of 30 runs. Kuldeep Yadav hit 10 runs off 10 balls, keeping KL Rahul’s undefeated score at 63 from 103 balls.
