IND vs NZ: What is New Zealand’s record in ICC finals?

New Zealand will take on India in the final of T20 World Cup 2026.

The Indian Cricket Team will be locking horns with New Zealand in the final of the T20 World Cup 2026. The two teams will be up against each other at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, 8 March.

Both India and New Zealand will enter the tournament on the back of solid performances in the T20 World Cup group as well as Super 8 stages. Having met in the Champions Trophy final, this will be the second straight time two will be up against each other in the final.

India will enter the final on the back of a narrow 7-run win over England in the semi-final. They posted a massive total of 253 runs on the board, and then England gave them a tough fight but thankfully they sealed the game by a margin of 7 runs.

New Zealand, on the other hand, completed a dominating win in the semi-final. They thumped South Africa by 9 wickets and would be keen to carry on that same confidence and head into the final on a high.

What is New Zealand’s record in ICC finals?

If we talk about New Zealand’s record in ICC finals, they have made it into the finals seven times in ICC events. But they don’t have a good record as they have won only twice.

New Zealand won the ICC Champions Trophy 2000 and then the World Test Championship (WTC) 2021-23 final against India.
