IND vs NZ ODI Series: Team India Expected Squad for New Zealand ODIs - KL Rahul, Rohit, Kohli Likely to Feature
After South Africa, the New Zealand team is now set to tour India. During this tour, India and New Zealand will play a three-match ODI series and a five-match T20I series. The main objective of this series is to prepare for the upcoming T20I World Cup, for which the BCCI has already announced the Indian team squad. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has not yet announced the ODI squad against the Kiwis, but we will look at the expected Indian ODI squad in this article.
The first match of the three-match ODI series will be played on January 11, 2026, at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara, the second match will be held at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot, and the final match of the series will be played on January 18 at the Holkar Stadium in Indore.
In the ODI matches, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and KL Rahul are certain to return to the Indian team. All three batsmen were in excellent form during the ODI series against South Africa.
After Shubman Gill was not included in the T20 World Cup squad, there was speculation on social media that he might also be dropped from the ODI squad, and that Shreyas Iyer could be given the captaincy. However, the BCCI has not confirmed this. Gill is currently the captain of the Indian ODI team, and he was the vice-captain in T20s, a role from which he was dropped, with Axar Patel being chosen to replace him.
