IND vs NZ: List of all 9 MASSIVE records that got shattered in the second T20I against New Zealand
The Indian Cricket Team had yet another dominating performance in the T20Is against New Zealand. They registered a thumping seven-wicket win in the second match at theShaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur to take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.
India had a challenging time with the ball as New Zealand, who were asked to bat first, had a decent outing with the bat. Although, no batter hit a half-century, there were impactful contributions from players.
Tim Seifert (24), Rachin Ravindra (44) and Glenn Phillips (19) kept the momentum going in the middle. In the end, captain Mitchell Santner (47*) took the onus to himself and played a blistering innings to take his team to 208 for six.
In the chase, India were jolted early with both Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma getting out early. But Ishan Kishan (76), who was making a comeback, produced one of the best innings of his career and took the game away from the opposition.
He took attack to the New Zealand bowlers, hitting them all over the park. Captain Suryakumar Yadav (82*) played a second fiddle to him, scoring just 39 runs in their 122-run partnership. After Kishan got out, Captain Yadav took charge.
Shivam Dube (36*) played his part s well as India chased the target with seven wickets in hand. They chased the target inside 16 overs, creating history.

- Hardik Pandya (126) became the second-most capped player for India in T20Is. He broke Virat Kohli’s (125) record.
- New Zealand (208/6) registered their highest-ever total against India in T20I cricket, surpassing their previous record of 196/2 in Rajkot in 2017.
- Arshdeep Singh (18) registered the unwanted record of joint-most runs conceded by an Indian bowler in the first over in T20Is. He shares the record with Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who also leaked 18 runs in a clash against Ireland in 2022.
- Ishan Kishan (22 balls) scripted the record for the fastest half-century against New Zealand in T20Is. He broke Abhishek Sharma’s (21 balls), which he registered in the previous game.
- India chased down their joint-highest target in T20Is, equalling the previous record of 209 against Australia in 2023.
- India successfully chased down a 200+ target for the sixth time. They follow Australia (7) for the feat.
- Suryakumar Yadav (8 times) equalled Abhishek Sharma’s record for reaching 50+ scores in 25 or fewer deliveries in T20Is the most times. (Since October 2024)
- India (75/2) registered second highest powerplay total against New Zealand in T20Is, behind 76/1 in the ICC T20 World Cup 2007.
- India registered the fastest 200+ run chase in T20I history.
