IND vs ENG Test: Team India is scheduled to assemble in Hyderabad on January 20 for the upcoming test series against England, which starts on January 25. The team will undergo a couple of net sessions followed by a practice game before taking on England in the first test in Hyderabad.

The Indian side is currently engaged in a three-match T20I series against Afghanistan. The third game of the series is underway with India already sealing the first two matches. Post the contest, which is underway in Bengaluru, all the players will have a few days break before joining the test match camp in Hyderabad.

On January 20, the Indian side will have net sessions immediately followed by a four-day practice match at the Uppal Stadium in Hyderabad.

The Indian players are reported to be available for the net session on January 20. Virat Kohli will have a day break after undergoing a net session, to attend the Ram Temple Consecration ceremony on January 22. The right-handed batter has already received permission from the BCCI for the same.

Senior all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has moved to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to get complete fitness ahead of the India vs England test. Reportedly, Jadeja has cancelled all his commercial engagements in a bid for the time being in order to focus on the upcoming series.

The India vs England five-match test series begins in Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on January 25. The two sides will then head to Vishakhapatnam for the second game. The third and fourth fixtures of the series will be held in Rajkot and Ranchi followed by the last contest in Dharmshala.

Talking about England’s preparation ahead of the crucial five-match series, the Englishmen are scheduled to arrive in the host city on January 21. The late arrival of the England contingent has drawn a fair bit of criticism from the experts.

Steve Harmison, former England cricketer, reckons England stands in danger of losing the test series 5-0 to India.

“I’m an old man and that’s what they’re going to say, the times have changed. But preparation hasn’t changed. You cannot go into India underprepared, you cannot go into India over-prepared. You could be in India six weeks before and still not be prepared for that first Test and the emotion of that,” said Harmison.
