IND vs ENG: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday (10th February) announced the Team India squad for the last three Tests against England. The third game between the teams will begin from the 15th Rajkot followed by the fourth game in Ranchi on the 23rd and the last match in Dharamsala on the 7th March.
Shreyas Iyer has been dropped from the team for the last three IND vs ENG Tests following his poor failures. The batter has been struggling to get going and since the last few months hasn’t been able to perform in the format.
Virat Kohli will also be missing the last three IND vs ENG games. The batter opted out of the entire series due to the family reasons. BCCI released the official statement, saying that they respect the batter’s decision and are with him.
Young pacer Akash Deep has been handed a maiden call-up after his impressive performances in the domestic circuit. KL Rahul along with Ravindra Jadeja are also back after missing the second IND vs ENG game. But their selection will depend on their fitness.
The rest of the India squad for the last three IND vs ENG game is similar to what it was in the second game. Rajat Patidar and Sarfaraz Khan are both expected to play now whereas out of form KS Bharat has also retained his place in the team, particularly for keeping skills.
Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill along with keeper-batter Dhruv Jurel will be boosting the batting department. R Ashwin, along with Axar Patel and Washington Sundar have also retained their place whereas Saurabh Kumar has been released from the team along with Avesh Khan.
