IND vs ENG: “Kick him out of the team,” Twitter slams Shubman Gill as the batter bags another failure in Tests

IND vs ENG: India batter Shubman Gill’s torrid run in Test cricket continued as he bagged another failure in the format. The batter was back in the hut early in the ongoing first Test against England in Hyderabad. 

India and England are currently locking horns with each other in the first match of the five-match series. The visitors won the toss and opted to bat first. They had a decent outing with the bat as they posted 246 runs on the board. 

India in reply had a decent start as Yashasvi Jaiswal (80) took England bowlers to cleaners and gave his team a rollicking start in the IND vs ENG game. Skipper Rohit Sharma (24) couldn’t get going at the top but he made sure teams got a good start. 

After the skipper got out in IND vs ENG, Shubman Gill walked out to bat. It was expected that he would set the stage on fire because he was under the firing line a lot. The batter didn’t look good at the crease as he struggled to get going.

Shubman Gill had a rock-solid defence but he failed to carry on and got out after having a start. The batter looked very tentative against spin and holed out to mid-wicket. It was a flighted delivery and drifting into the right-hander, Gill wasn’t there to the pitch of the ball. 

But he still went ahead with the shovel. He dragged it off the inner half and found Duckett to precision at mid-wicket. With his wicket, India lost both overnight batters inside the first hour of play on the second day of the IND vs ENG. 

Shubman Gill has been criticised a lot for his poor failures in Test cricket. The batter now averages just around 28 in the Tests and it won’t be a surprise if he gets dropped from the team. With Virat Kohli set to be back for the third IND and ENG test, the batter might get dropped.
