The marquee ICC event, which is slated to begin on June 7 in London, is giving butterflies to the cricket fans, who will be seeing red-ball action after a long wait.

Team India will be back at the international circuit after a gap of little more than 2 months and Australia also played their last international fixture during the same time. Meanwhile, the two sides are leaving no stone unturned in their preparations ahead of the epic clash at the Kennington Oval, which will unfold a couple of days from now. The preparations are in full flow in the respective venues allotted to IND and AUS. They will be given access to the main venue just two days before the IND vs AUS WTC Final.

IND and AUS managed to remain the top two sides at the end of the ICC WTC 2021-23 cycle after playing six test series with different opponents. While Australia sealed the top place with a 66.67 win percentage, Rohit Sharma-led India secured the second spot with the second-best win percentage of 58.8.

Pat Cummins-led Australia has suffered a major dent in their campaign ahead of the WTC Final against India following the injury to seasoned pacer Josh Hazlewood. The speedster was racing against time to be fit for the IND vs AUS WTC Final at the Kennington Oval after stuffing side soreness during the IPL.

Earlier, Cricket Australia (CA) deemed Hazlewood fit to feature in the summit clash against India, but the pacer kneeled down to his injury and lost his race.

Although Josh is ruled out of the ICC WTC Final, he still remains very much in the plans of Australia for the upcoming Ashes 2023. He is likely to be in Australia’s squad for the opening two tests against England.

Meanwhile, Michael Nesser along with Sean Abbott has received a call-up as the dark cloud loom over Josh Hazlewood’s participation.
