IND vs AUS: Rohit Sharma breaks Williamson, Gayle’s record during World Cup 2023 Final India vs Australia: Indian captain Rohit Sharma continued his blazing form in the ICC World Cup 2023 final as he tore apart the Australian bowling lineup during his limited stay in the crease. While at one end he provided a promising start to the team, his bombarding form added more milestones to his decorated cap.

Rohit Sharma would be disappointed with his early dismissal, but the skipper made sure that his team got a fiery start with his knock of 47 runs in just 31 deliveries. He amassed 47 runs with the help of four boundaries and three sixes.

The veteran captain launched an attack on Australia’s frontline pacers in a bid to provide a quick start to his side on a slowish surface. He added 30 runs with Shubman Gill for the first wicket in 4 overs and for the second wicket, he and Virat Kohli mustered another 46 runs in the quickest of the time.

However, Rohit Sharma’s stay in the middle, which was turning out to be fruitful for the Indian side at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, was cut short by Travis Head’s stunning catch running backwards off Glenn Maxwell’s delivery.

Sharma, who had hit a six and a four in the previous two deliveries against Maxwell in the 10th over of the innings, charged down the track to take another chance but ended up slicing it high towards point. Travis Head, who was stationed in the cover’s region ran a few meters backwards and gave it a full-length dive to catch the ball.

Although Rohit suffered an untimely dismissal, but not before breaking a couple of records. Below are the details of the records broken by Rohit Sharma during the World Cup 2023 Final.
