IND vs AUS: Blow for India! Star Indian all-rounder likely to be ruled out of the T20I series against Australia

The Indian Cricket Team have faced a massive blow ahead of the T20I series against the Australian Cricket Team. All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy faced an injury blow that kept him out of the third ODI between the teams at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney. 

Nitish Kumar Reddy made his debut for India in the first ODI against Australia in Perth. He played a vital role with the bat for his team, hitting important runs in the last over. But in the second game in Adelaide, he failed to deliver with the bat. 

It was expected that Nitish Kumar Reddy would retain his place in the team for the third ODI. However, that wasn’t the case as he was ruled out of the match with a quadriceps injury. The development was confirmed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). 

“Nitish Kumar Reddy sustained a left quadriceps injury during the second ODI in Adelaide" - BCCI

Releasing the official statement, BCCI said “Nitish Kumar Reddy sustained a left quadriceps injury during the second ODI in Adelaide and was subsequently unavailable for selection for the third ODI. The BCCI Medical Team is monitoring him on a daily basis,” read the BCCI statement. 

The seriousness of the injury is yet to be known but with him getting ruled out of the last ODI against Australia, there are chances that he might miss the T20I series as well. The series will be played from October 29 to November 8 and will serve as great preparation for the team for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

If Nitish Kumar Reddy gets ruled out of the T20I series against Australia, then it would act as a big blow for India. Reddy was already added as a replacement after Hardik Pandya was ruled out of the entire tour due to the same quadriceps injury.
