IND vs AFG 2024: No Virat Kohli in the 1st T20I Match against Afghanistan due to personal reasons- Reports:?As per the latest Reports, The Chase Master Virat Kohli will not be available for the first T20I game against Afghanistan, which will be played at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali on January 11, 2024. The Match between both teams is set to start at 7:00 PM (IST).

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were set to return to Team India?s T20I side after the ICC Men?s T20I World Cup 2024 but now, it is almost confirmed that he will see only Rohit Sharma in the first T20I game whereas King Kohli will make his comeback in the second T20I game. Both the players haven?t played a single T20I game for the Indian Team since 14 months.

India and Afghanistan will be playing the three-match T20I series in India, which is scheduled to start from January 11, 2024, to January 17, 2024. All three games will be played at three different venues in India, the first match will be played in Mohali, the second in Indore and the third in Bengaluru. 

Virat Kohli will play his first T20I game after the T20 World Cup 2022 at Holkar Stadium in Indore, which will be played on January 14, 2024. This T20I series will be the last bilateral series of the Indian Team to prepare for the ICC Men?s T20 World Cup 2024, which is set to start from June 1, 2024.

In the Press conference, Indian Team head coach Rahul Dravid revealed that Rohit Sharma, who is returning to the T20I side after 14 months will be opening with Youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal in the first T20I game against Afghanistan at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali.
