ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 points table: South Africa eliminates Pakistan from the tournament, and fights for fourth spot on

Pakistan became the second team to be officially eliminated from the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 as South Africa thrashed them by 150 runs on Tuesday in Colombo. This was their fourth loss in the tournament as they yet again failed to deliver with bat and ball. 

Put into bat, South Africa piled up 312 for nine with the target getting revised to 243 in 20 overs due to DLS. Pakistan came up with a terrible effort with the bat, scoring just 83 for seven. 

South Africa had a disappointing start to their innings as in-form Tanzim Brits bagged a four-ball duck. But after that, they were all over the opposition with captain Laura Wolvaardt (90) and Sune Luus (61) bringing their best with the bat. They slammed bowlers all over the park and added 118 runs for the second wicket with both batters slamming fifties. 

Pakistan made a slight comeback with two quick wickets but Wolvaardt along with Marizanne Kapp (68*) did further damage, adding 64 runs together. Nadine de Klerk (41) also continued her dream run with the bat as she played a brutal cameo that took South Africa to 312 for nine. 

Much like the last few games, Pakistan’s struggle with the bat continued as they lost their top four batters for 35 with Marizanne Kapp picking three. Rain then again played spoilsport and the match was reduced to 20 overs with Pakistan needing 234. 

However, nothing changed for them with the bat as they kept giving away wickets. Natlia Parvez (20) tried to go hard but couldn’t carry on.  Sidra Nawaz (22*) tried to hold the fort but the target was beyond reach as Pakistan managed just 83 for seven, losing the game by 150 runs.

ICC Women's World Cup 2025: Points table after match 22, SA vs PAK

After match 22 in the ICC Women's World Cup 2025 , SA vs PAK, South Africa moved to the top spot in the points table. They leapfrogged Australia and England, who are second and third to go to the top. India are fourth followed by New Zealand and Sri Lanka. Bangladesh and Pakistan are next but have been eliminated.
