ICC Test Player Rankings: Jasprit Bumrah Retains Top Spot as Siraj, Bumrah & Jadeja rise in the rankings
The Indian Test team recently won the first Test match of the series against the West Indies by an innings and 140 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. After this match, the International Cricket Council on Wednesday (October 8) announced the latest Test rankings, which has benefited many Indian players.
As the India-West Indies IDFC FIRST BANK Test series is part of the World Test Championship 2025, the result of this series will also have an impact on the points table.
India, having won the first match, is currently third in the points table with a 55.56 percentage. Australia is at the top with 100 percentage and Sri Lanka is at the second place with 66.67 percentage.
Meanwhile, pacer Mohammed Siraj has moved up three places to 12th in the latest Test rankings . He took 7 wickets in the first Test against West Indies. He has earned 718 rating points. These are his best rating points.
Jasprit Bumrah remains at the top of the bowlers' list. He is the only Indian bowler in the top 10. Kagiso Rabada remains at the second position and Matt Henry at the third position.
India's Kuldeep Yadav also had a significant performance. He has now jumped 7 places to 21st place.
In the batsmen's list, Ravindra Jadeja has jumped 6 places to 25th position while getting the best rating points. He scored a century against West Indies. He now has 644 rating points. Apart from this, KL Rahul also scored a century. Due to this, he has moved up 4 places and is now at number 35.
In this ranking, England's Joe Root remains at the top. Harry Brooke remains at the second position and Kane Williamson remains at the third position. However, Yashasvi Jaiswal has dropped two places. He has come to the 7th position. Rishabh Pant remains at the 8th position, while Shubman Gill is at the 13th position.
Ravindra Jadeja has further strengthened his position as an all-rounder. Apart from this, Washington Sundar has also moved up 4 places to 11th position. So, he now has a chance to enter the top-10.
India's Varun Chakaravarthy, who is now the top-ranked bowler in the T20 rankings, could face a challenge from Afghanistan's Rashid Khan. Rashid has jumped six places to second in the list. Apart from this, there has been no major change in the T20 rankings.
